Goddess Brigid Illuminations 2023

Imbolg was an incredible time here in Ireland this year as the nation celebrated Brigid on her first public holiday with parades, illuminations, workshops, fire performances, rituals and ceremonies all over the land. We celebrated the Divine Feminine in all her glory and it was so powerful to witness.

These images are from the Dodeca Ireland and Herstory Ireland illuminations at the on the iconic building of the GPO on O’ Connell Street in Dublin, Ireland, on the 5th of February 2023. It was an incredible honour for my art to be included in this special event.

Brigid is a Goddess to some and Saint to others but either way she is the symbol of a feisty Irish woman in her power, who stood up for herself and those in need and for those who seek her wisdom, guidance, healing and protection.  She has a special place in the heart of the Irish people.

She is associated with fire and the sacred waters of our land.  She is the Matron saint of midwifery, blacksmiths, the creative arts, healers, fertility and medicine. She is a powerful ally to all women everywhere.  She brings us the gift of Springtime, new beginnings and bright possibilities.  Brigid is a woman of the Hearth and Heart, we hang her cross in our homes above the front door to protect us from fires and evil energies throughout the year.
